When should I book a Newborn Photographer?
Anytime in your second trimester!
Most newborn photographers only book a set amount of sessions a month. The closer to your due date the more likely that newborn bookings for your due date month will be unavailable.
Since we don't always have an exact date when baby will arrive planning ahead and booking with your photographer will guarantee your session. Booking a newborn session will put your due date on the schedule and once baby arrives and you are all settling at home, a set session time can be discussed.
How soon after baby is born should we do newborn photos?
Newborn sessions are best done before baby is 3 weeks old. Ideally I like to have my newborns come in betweek 6-10 days old.
My baby is here, can I still get newborn photos?
It wont hurt to ask, be prepared that they may not be able to get you in. If your first choice photographer is fully booked they might have a photographer community to reach out to for you.
When it comes to booking your newborn photographer the sooner, the better!
